The channel strip on the right is usually the main Stereo Output channel strip (output from Logic). The left channel strip in the Inspector always represents the currently selected track. The track is like a visual representation of the Channel Strip in the Arrange area. Here you can see I have an EVP88 instrument loaded as the input for the channel strip.
